Scientific Work

Scientific work of the Chair deal with:

• pulse formers for micro resistance welding;
• semiconductor converters with improved electromagnetic compatibility;
• microprocessor control systems for direct-current collectorless engines;
• high voltage power supplies based on piezoelectric transformers;
• automated control systems for complex multicomponent systems;
• intellectual control for technical and technological complexes and systems;
• microprocessor systems for controlling and processing;
• special devices for information display;
• computer vision and algorithms of pictures’ analysis;
• pattern recognition systems and artificial intelligence;
• information technologies of decision support systems for goods traffic control;
• devices for definition objects’ 2D and 3D coordinates.

Annually the scientists of the Chair present articles and make reports at the International scientific conferences, such as "Power Electronics and Energy Efficiency" (Alushta, Ukraine), "Modern Information and Electronic Technologies" (Odessa, Ukraine), "Problems in Modern Electrical Engineering" (Kiev, Ukraine).

Pavlo S. SAFRONOV Defends PhD Thesis

The Chair scientists are the authors of many interesting inventions and have more than 50 patents. Most of the inventions applied for technological processes at Ukrainian and foreign enterprises.

One of the most priority tasks of the Chair is post-graduate students’ training. The training is carried out in two scientific directions:

• semiconductor converters of electric power;
• automation of controlling processes.
